Guide · Choosing an agency
How to choose a marketing agency in Bahrain or Saudi Arabia
The short answer
Choose the agency that will name the number it expects to be judged on before any work starts, keep your accounts in your name, itemise its fee separately from ad spend, report against that number every month, write Arabic natively, and work without locking you in. Ask those seven questions, and read the answers against the agency's case studies rather than its promises.
The seven questions
- Which number will you be judged on, and when do we agree it? A good agency agrees the KPI before the first post or campaign. An activity vendor talks about reach.
- Who owns the ad accounts, the social accounts, the website, and the content if we part ways? The answer should be you, in full, with admin access from day one.
- What is in your fee and what is ad spend? The two should be separate lines on the proposal and the invoice.
- What does the monthly report contain? Ask to see a real one, with the client's figures removed. It should tie spend and content to enquiries, sales, or bookings.
- Who writes the Arabic? Native copy reads differently to a Saudi or Bahraini customer than a translation. Ask for samples in both languages.
- What is the contract term? Month to month means the agency expects to earn your renewal.
- Can you show a case study with the scope stated? A result without its scope, dates, and measurement method is a claim, not evidence.
Red flags
- Guaranteed rankings, guaranteed followers, or guaranteed leads. Nobody controls the platforms.
- Ad accounts or domains registered in the agency's name "for convenience".
- A fee that changes with the number of posts but no mention of what the posts are for.
- Case studies that show revenue gains without saying what the agency actually did.
- A twelve-month contract offered on the first call.
How to read a case study
Look for four things: the diagnosis (what was actually wrong), the scope (what the agency did and did not do), the measurement (where the number came from and over what period), and the limits (what the agency does not claim). Our XO Games page, for example, states that the client ran its own advertising throughout; the result there is organic content, not paid media. Our AASN Online page says sales rose 33 percent during the engagement and that no controlled test was run. That candour is the point.
Bahrain-based, serving Saudi Arabia: what to expect
An online agency can serve a Saudi business well without a Riyadh office, provided the working model is explicit: kick-off and monthly reviews online, on your working week; content written natively in Arabic and English and checked against the market it targets; reporting in the format your finance team can read; and the currency and terms stated in the proposal before you commit. Ask any agency, including us, to put those four things in writing.
How Alrasly answers the seven questions
The KPI is agreed in the free audit before any work is scoped. Accounts, content, and data stay in your name. Fees and ad spend are itemised, and our packages publish the included spend. Reporting is monthly and tied to the agreed number. Arabic is written natively. Work runs month to month. Every case study states its scope and its limits. The founder is an MBA and a Certified Management Accountant, Alrasly is an Authorized Zoho Partner, and we have served 103 clients since 2021 with a 93 percent project success rate.
Questions, answered
- Should I choose a local agency or one abroad?
- Choose on the working model, not the address. What matters is native Arabic, availability on your working week, ownership of your accounts, and reporting you can act on. A Bahrain-based agency serves Saudi businesses on those terms every day.
- How long should I give an agency before judging results?
- A working reporting stack should be live within about 30 days; that is the first thing to check. Marketing results build over the following months as spend shifts to what performs. Judge the first month on measurement, the next quarter on the number you agreed.
- What does the free audit involve?
- We review your current marketing and numbers, show you what is working and what is not, and point to where the real opportunity is. No obligation to continue.
